The history of Séchoir de L'Engranne

It's never too late to be happy

A former tobacco kiln

Renovated by us, for you.

In Gironde, between the Dordogne and Garonne rivers, the 3-hectare Séchoir de l’Engranne is located in the heart of the Entre-deux-Mers region, in a Natura 2000 zone protecting biodiversity.

The property, bordered by the Engranne stream, is home to deer, birds of prey including the little owl, migratory birds such as the hoopoe, and many other species.

This land of freedom is less than 40 minutes from the Bordeaux Rocade, 30 minutes from Saint Emilion and 1h15 from the Arcachon Basin;

The Séchoir building was already present in the 16th century, as the inn of a coaching inn. Later, in the second half of the 19th century, it became a winery. Following the phylloxera crisis, the winegrower tore up his vines and turned to the more profitable production of tobacco.

At that time, the stone building was converted into a tobacco drying shed. It was in this configuration that we acquired it in 2021.

2022-2023 were the years of renovation of this building in the purest Gironde tradition by local craftsmen. We’ve worked hard to offer you an air-conditioned vacation home that’s a pleasure to live in with family and friends.

To bring you relaxation and rest, we’ve added a private swimming pool, bowling green and putting green. The meadows and their hundred-year-old oak trees provide an idyllic backdrop.

The Tiny

Designed by us, for you.

Just 200m from the Séchoir, an island of large trees and rocks gave us the idea of creating a cocoon in the heart of nature.
The tiny space was designed to minimize environmental impact, and was built in the Nantes region.
” La Tiny ” has been designed for you to relax and let go.

Our goats, our stars

What could be more natural than goat mowers in a Natura 2000 area ?
A passion that we will be delighted to share with you during your stay.
